The U.P., Part 1
We finally got to the Upper Peninsula (or U.P. for short) part of our trip. Before we crossed over the Mackinac Bridge that connects lower Michigan to the UP, we spent a night at the nearby Wilderness State Park. Don’t the pictures look like we’re by the ocean?
Next up…crossing the bridge. The Mackinac Bridge is 5 miles long and is the longest suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere!
First stop in the UP…Tahquamenon Falls is the second most voluminous waterfall east of the Mississippi River, behind only Niagara Falls.
Then, finally, off to Newberry, where we stayed at a local RV park. Quite an eventful day!
