Spring 2026

We traveled to many places we’d been before, along with plenty of new ones on this trip whose main purpose was to meet up with Matthew in Washington, D.C. Trip highlights (there were so many!) include walking the Wright Brothers first flight site in Kitty Hawk, the drum and fife corps parade at Colonial Williamsburg, the professor’s tour at historic Jamestown, taking Matthew and his roommates to dinner, the cherry blossoms, cave formations in Luray Caverns, blackberry cobbler at Skyland, the bunker tour at the Greenbrier Resort, Friday night jamboree at the Floyd Country store, our visit with Time and Donna Strunk, and meeting Luke Talley at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

January 2026

We went with Matthew on a Princess cruise out of Galveston to these three Caribbean cities. Trip highlights were snorkeling in Cozumel, the monkey and sloth reserve in Belize, and the nature boat ride in Roatan.

Fall 2025

The trip of flexibility…not entirely what we planned, but we are having a special time, nonetheless.

Trip highlights were a long stay at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama; Halloween at Roan Mountain; camping in a field in the fun and funky town of Floyd, Virginia; touring Clemson University; Matthew coming to stay with us for a week; a walking tour of Charleston; watching Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil; and Thanksgiving in Jacksonville.

Trip highlights included the Johnny Appleseed memorial, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Traverse City, wineries, the Spam Museum, and Dallas, Texas to visit Matthew.

Trip highlights included the Fire Ant Festival in Ashburn, Georgia, and meeting up with Dave and Kathy Smith at Lake Altoona in Woodstock, Georgia.

Trip highlights include buying our beautiful new-to-us motorhome! We drove her home through the beauty of Arizona and New Mexico, visited the UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico, and went to Anna, Texas, to visit Matthew.
