Traverse City, Michigan
We spent 3 nights at the Traverse Bay RV Resort, which is the swankiest RV park we have ever stayed in. We had to send a picture of our rig to get “pre-approved” to stay there. The landscaping was gorgeous, and the fitness room, shower suites, and laundry were all top-notch. However, the most remarkable aspect was the other RVs. It was the largest gathering of luxury RVs we’d ever seen. There were tens of millions of dollars worth of motorhomes, including Prevosts, Newmars, and Tiffins. They were so beautiful, and I hope the pictures capture the majestic beauty of these machines.
We went to the Village at Grand Traverse Commons, built in 1885 as a psychiatric community known as Northern Michigan Asylum. It was decommissioned, and parts of it have been renovated to house upscale shops, restaurants, and breweries. Other parts remain in a state of disrepair that is spooky.
After that, we went to Bowers Harbor Vineyards, the most dog-friendly winery on the Old Mission Peninsula. There, we enjoyed a wine flight and views of the grape vines and bay.
Finally, we spent a day cleaning the RV inside and out (with the help of a detailing service popular in the park), doing laundry, working on state tasks (for me), and more.
