National Bonsai Museum

Within the National Arboretum, this gem deserves a post of its own. This magical place holds miniature masterpieces of horticultural art. It began 50 years ago when Japan gifted the U.S. 53 bonsai in honor of our country’s bicentennial. The museum includes the Yamaki bonsai tree. Over 400 years old, it survived the bombing of Hiroshima.
